Ronnie Renner’s Sets Record with 59″2′ Motorcross Jump

Ronnie Renner Breaks Motorcycle Record on Half-Pipe Jump

He jumped off an 18 foot quarter pipe at the Santa Monica Pier July 12th to set a Guiness World Record last week. After failing to make the jump on his first 3 tries, Renner was being interviewed in a post-jump conversation as the crowd shouted “One More Time.”

Similar to a crowd shouting “One More Song” and playing an encore. Renner delivered and broke the world record. Encores, are not very common in motorcycle jumps, but the crowd of 20,000 demanded his subsequent World Record jump.

“All or nothing,” he said. “I knew what I needed to do on the last one, all for the crowd. Way past my goal of 50 feet. I’m just pumped on this. Never jump when they say, ‘One more time.’ But I’m glad I did it — five feet higher and I rode away to talk about it.

  1. “Encores are not very common in motorcycle jumps,” – perhaps this is due to the fact that at least 60% of all motorcycle jumps end in severe bodily injury and at least 80% require a trip to the local hospital.
